OneNote may be the most exciting thing I've used from Microsoft in quite a while, I use it to take notes when I'm out at customer sites or conferences and need to jot something down or transcribe hand-written notes to make my notes more legible. I'm also running OneNote on my Cingular 8525 and can make voice notes, which is AWESOME!

Smartphones allow for various methods of accessing your email.

Orgs using Exchange can use either Mobile Access (direct connection to Exchange server over HTTPS or HTTP), or POP/IMAP setttings to retrieve their email. The Mobile Access is the best way to go, because you will get wireless sync of your email, contacts, and calendar. The other methods only get you the email.

The direct Exchange server access requires IT involvement as there are some fundamental changes to the network setup that are required to allow it. My recommendation: check with your IT guys to see what they are supporting at this time.

can u sync corp email that require vpn access without having to acquire IT to provide the pin number for corp exchange server

I have been happy using ActiveSync since Exchange 2003 came out. Others in our group find it too thin on various features, but it works well for how I use mobile devices for email management.

I would be very interested in what you decide.

Just picked one up myself and am evaluating the best method of accessing my exchange account.

I started with xpressmail and have to say i'm somewhat underwhelmed. I'll try active-sync next. Hoping it will work well enough to avoid the reasonable but none the less costly $20 Good Mobile approach.

Go try the Beta 2 preview. I like it better than Beta 1 for sure.
