add the URL of your sharepoint website in your IE "trusted sites"

Firefox also doesn't present lot of options of Sharepoint where does IE does. Like for example the checkout/checkin drop downs are not available in firefox...so not a good choice

I agree on the firefox does not require the password and user id. It caches this information and offers it up each time. Unlike Internet explorer

I don't believe this is the only solution. Firefox doesn't require passwords and some of my IE are the same way. Though I'm still attempting to track down the issue.

There are a number of workarounds that have been posted online. I have mine working with a Vista Ultimate box at home. Absolute bliss man.
