Let's say you accidentally delete an email from your Exchange mailbox. Typically, you would first look for it in your Deleted items folder, and if it's not there, you can look in your deleted items retention queue. Now let's say you still can't find the email. Now what? There is one last chance you have of recovering the email, using Outlook Web Access. This process is also useful if you end up with a corrupt junk mail rule that ends up deleting all the mail from your inbox, and doesn't put it into deleted items.
Open Internet Explorer
Log into OWA with your email account
Once you are logged in, change the URL to:
https: //SERVERNAME/exchange/USERNAME/FOLDER NAME/?cmd=showdeleted&close=1
For example, let's say that I have an account of amy@amy.com on ex14.myhostedexchange.com. To recover the deleted items from my inbox, I would:
1. Go to https://ex14.myhostedexchange.com
2. Log in with amy@amy.com and my password
3. Change the URL to https://ex14.myhostedexchange.com/exchange/amy@amy.com/inbox/?cmd=showdeleted&close=1
Thanks to Brian for this tip!
