Forwarding Contacts Across Domains or Over the Internet Sends Them as E-Mail Messages (from a Microsoft KB article)
Issue
When you forward a Contact across domains or over the Internet, the Contact may be forwarded as an e-mail message. This behavior does not occur if you forward Contacts within a Microsoft Exchange Server site in the same domain.
Workaround
To work around this behavior, when you forward a Contact to someone over the Internet, forward the Contact as a vCard:
| 1. |
Select or open the Contact, and on the Actions menu, click Forward as vCard. |
| 2. |
Enter an Internet account e-mail address, and then click Send. |
Status
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Interesting note: The contact attachment that looks like an email with the information stripped can be dragged and dropped into your contacts in Outlook and all the information will be there. You just can't view it by opening the attachment from the email.
